ABOUT SHORES HOTELS  -  HISTORY
The larger Abou Youssef Group was established in 1970 and operates in three main sectors; swimming pools, contracting and specialised construction, and diesel engines. In 1990 it ventured into tourism development on the shores of the Red Sea. Today it has successfully completed its hotelier process and integrated hotel management into its portfolio of activities.

The Abou Youssef Group
The group's success story began with the resourcefulness and perseverance of its founder, Eng. Mohamed Abou Youssef who first designed and built factories and hospitals. He then seized the moment during Egypt's liberalization in the mid 70's and negotiated with major international companies specialized in power generation, marine propulsion, swimming pool equipment and concrete additives to become their sole representative in Egypt. To date the group has expanded to Sudan and Libya with over 1500 employees. Its activities range from building five star hotels to supplying and installing generating sets and marine engines for private and public sectors. Today it is a pioneer in the field of water features, swimming pools, Jacuzzis, fountains, as well as holds the widest product range for concrete additives, grouting, industrial flooring and epoxy resin in the region.

Branching out to Shores Hotels
In 1995, the group seized yet another opportunity, this time aiming for the beautiful coast of the Red Sea, and created Sinai Touristic Investments Company (STICO) which today owns three (5 star and 4 star) hotels with 1000 rooms in Sharm El Sheikh.
In 2006, the hotelier process was completed through a forward vertical integration and Shores Hotels was created, a hotel management company with a distinct identity and 5-star world class standards. In just two years Shores Hotels has grown to manage 5 hotels located in Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam, and Baharia oasis in the Western Desert.
